Komatsu expands breaker offering with launch of its new V
Komatsu is introducing a new line of hydraulic breakers—the JMHB-V breaker series, or "V-Series." Currently, the company has two models available, offering compatibility with its PC210 excavator up to its PC490.
The V-Series breakers feature 100% hydraulic firing, fully-automatic variable speed and a high production ratio. Also, according to Komatsu, these new breakers will help customers achieve excellent impact energy and performance in a variety of demolition applications.
With minimal wasted energy and subsequent higher operating efficiency, Komatsu's 100% hydraulic-fired V-Series breakers modulate their impact force and frequency with up to 16 working positions to match an application's requirements. Also, the breakers feature an energy-saving recovery valve that recuperates energy to drive efficiency.
Depending on the application's hardness, V-Series breakers automatically select the appropriate stroke length and speed. So, the breakers can achieve high production output, with little wasted impact energy.
Komatsu V-Series breakers’ come standard with automatic greasing, advanced blank firing protection, swivel hose couplings and heavy-duty housing.
In terms of promoting longevity, the machine shock-dampening upper and lower suspensions can help to reduce the risk of cracking excavator booms and breaker housings. Moreover, the standard automatic lubrication feature can help to guard against contamination caused by dust and debris.
According to Komatsu, V-Series suspensions—featuring rubber/poly components—help to absorb impact and reduce vibrations through the boom.
Additionally, by completely enclosing the sound-dampening housings, Komatsu aims to reduce noise generation in comparison to open-style breakers. Thus, offering customers a solution to addressing noise ordinances in urban environments.
To support regular maintenance of breakers, Komatsu includes inspection kits and gauges to measure wear on critical components. Additionally, these breakers are backed by the Komatsu North America Attachment Division, a dedicated hydraulic attachments sales and service team that supports Komatsu distributors. According to Komatsu, these specialists possess factory training and experience with installation, operation, service and rebuilds.
