Texas assistant chief succumbs to injuries after being struck by fire hose

PERRYTON, Texas — A Texas assistant fire chief has died from injuries he sustained during a structure fire on Oct. 17.
Perryton Assistant Fire Chief Scott Glass and firefighters Thomas Beal and Jacob Anderson were struck by a 5-inch supply line as it was being charged, KFDA reported.
Glass sustained serious head injuries. He was flown to Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo and listed in critical condition.
Firefighter Beal suffered a broken arm and other fractures. Firefighter Anderson suffered minor injuries and was treated and released.
On Oct. 20, the Perryton Fire Department posted on social media that Glass had died.
The department will post details of the service for Glass when they become available.
