Several buildings evacuated in Durham due to gas leak, no injuries reported

Several buildings were evacuated Wednesday in Durham after a propane leak.

It happened near the 4400 block of Durham Chapel Hill Boulevard.

No injuries have been reported as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the fire department.

The Durham Fire Department's hazmat crews and Emergency Management were at the scene.

A large propane tank appears to be overfilled and caused a pressure relief valve to open and relieve pressure, according to the fire department.

There is a group of firefighters at the scene to get it under the proper pressure.
